The Marwood Children and Grandchildren
Our oldest son Stephen has been an owner/operator in the trucking business since the late 1990’s. His work has taken him across North America. His interests have always been hands-on mechanical activities and has ambitions of restoring his Land Rovers.
Our second son, Chris, is married to Jenni. Following graduation from the University of Guelph with a PhD in Environmental Science/Toxicology, a 2 year post-doc in Ohio and 3 years as Assistant Professor of Environmental Biology at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California in Santa Barbara, Chris accepted a position with a consulting firm in Ottawa conducting environmental assessments. He is currently a major partner in an environmental consulting firm doing environmental risk assessments.
Jenni and Chris have 2 daughters. Fern (b. 2002) and Willow (2009) are both accomplished fiddlers. They are taking lessons in horse-back riding and own a horse.
Suu (Susan) graduated from the University of Windsor with a degree in Vocal Performance. Suu and Neil were married in 1998 and have 2 daughters and a son. Neil has worked as a paramedic with the Peel region and taught paramedic students at a private college. Suu has had voice and piano students, performed in an operatic concert of Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, and helped to develop a new congregation in Vaughan where the family has worshipped for several years. She has been a leader of the children’s ministry at the church. She is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Simcoe County Arts Council and manager of the Council’s storer in Alliston
They are enjoying their growing family. Gabriella (b. 2002), Aurora (b. 2004) and Jasper-Addison (b. 2008) have studied dance and performed in several children’s theatre productions.
After graduating from the University of Windsor, School of Music, and obtaining as ARTC in piano, Shelley completed her Masters degree in music composition at the University of Calgary in 2010. In 2019, she completed her doctorate and graduated as Doctor of Musical Arts (Composition) at the University of Toronto. She has composed numerous compositions, mostly for orchestra and has won several competitions and commissions. Her compositions are listed on her website: www.shelleymarwood.com
